Operative Intercepted A truck with vandalised Petrol

The Ogun State Police Command says its
operatives attached to Sagamu Division
intercepted a truck loaded with vandalised
Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) in Sagamu area of
the state.
This is barely four days after a 33,000-litre truck
loaded with stolen petrol was intercepted in Ogijo,
Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State.
According to a press statement by the spokesman
for the command, Muyiwa Adejobi, the Police
operatives acted on a tip-off which led to the
arrest of one of the vandals named Elochukwu
Byron. He said other suspects escaped.
The suspect and the exhibits, according to Mr
Adejobi, would be transferred to the Department of
Criminal Investigation and Intelligence, in Eleweran
Abeokuta, for further investigation on the directive
of the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State,
Abdulmajid Ali.
Mr Ali has also put all officers and men of the
command on their toes to make sure that pipelines
and installations are adequately protected,
particularly during a period of fuel crisis like the
one being witnessed across Nigeria.
He warned that many of the hoodlums would want
to seize the opportunity to perpetrate their criminal
act of economic sabotage.
