They hoped Prosper would get better as he got older, but the tongue just carried on growing and growing. After a while, the child couldn’t eat any more. He had to be put on a drip. Eventually the boy was operated on and his tongue was made shorter. "The operation went well" Gilfred said. "We thought the problem was over, but we were just fooling ourselves. We soon noticed Prosper’s lower lip had been dragged down and stretched by the weight of the tongue but again we thought it would come right by itself." The family has moved to Phomolong in Tembisa, Ekurhuleni to start a new life but Prosper’s

11-year-old boy who killed girl, 8 for refusing to let him play with puppies found guilty of first-degree murder The young boy who killed 8-year-old MaKayla Dyer with a shotgun on the Tennessee trailer park where they both lived has been found guilty of first-degree murder and sentenced to state custody until he turns 19. The judge’s order, posted online by local television station WATE-TV, said the state should use all reasonable resources to determine why the boy shot the girl, and added he should be treated and rehabilitated so this never happens again. "A child who commits first-degree murder cannot be willy-nilly turned loose into society." Judge Dennis Roach wrote. According to his description of events, on October 3, 2015, MaKayla and her sister were playing outside and talking to the boy while he sat at his bedroom window on the mobile home site in the town of White Pine. He then asked the sisters to go get their puppies and when they refused he

Police arrest six for arranging wedding between 6&7year old boy & girl

Pakistan police arrest six for arranging wedding between 6 & 7year old boy & girl Police have arrested six people accused of arranging the marriage of a seven-year-old boy and six-year-old girl in eastern Pakistan, officials said Saturday. The fathers of both children, the cleric performing the ceremony, and three witnesses were charged under the Child Marriage Restraint Act on Saturday after being arrested in Punjab province on Friday, senior police official Saifullah Khan told AFP. They face six months imprisonment and/or a fine of 50,000 rupees ($500). Local police chief Mehr Riaz Hussain said the accused have denied that the wedding took place, but police have it on video. Chibok nobody can bring back the girls Obasanjo

Chibok Kidnapping: "Nobody can bring back the girls because they are nowhere to be found"- Obasanjo Former President Olusegun Obasanjo said the over 200 girls abducted by Boko Haram in Chibok, Borno State may never be found because their whereabout is unknown. "The search for the abducted Chibok girls may not be fruitful. Nobody can bring back the girls because they are nowhere to be found." he said. "Anyone saying the Chibok girls will return is telling lies, maybe s

Udom still the Governor of Akwa ibom state

The Supreme Court has upheld the election of Udom Emmanuel of the Peoples Democratic Party as governor of the oil-rich Akwa Ibom State. The court gave the ruling validating the April 11 governorship election on Wednesday night but did not provide reasons for its judgment. The court reversed the decision of the Court of Appeal, which nullified Mr. Udom’s election. The Supreme Court ruled that Mr. Udom of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, won the lawfully cast votes in the April 11, 2015 election. Full details of the ruling would be provided on a February 15, the court said. Background The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja had on December 18 nullified the Akwa Ibom State governorship election of April 11, removing Mr. Emmanuel, from office. Mr. Emmanuel’s election was challenged by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Umana Umana. At the election tribunal, Mr. Emmanuel of the Peoples Democratic Party, had secured partial victory, with the e

Udom uphold as the Governor of Akwa ibom state by supreme Court

At the election tribunal, Mr. Emmanuel of the Peoples Democratic Party, had secured partial victory, with the election cancelled only in 18 out of the state’s 31 local government areas. The tribunal had ordered a rerun. Mr. Emmanuel had challenged the ruling, insisting he won in all 31 LGAs. The APC candidate, Mr. Umana, also appealed against the ruling, seeking a total nullification of the election. But a five-man panel at the Court of Appeal dismissed Mr. Emmanuel’s argument, and cancelled the entire election. The appeal court had said the tribunal was wrong in its refusal to comply with section 179 (2) of the Constitution. The court said having agreed with the evidence of principal witnesses, video evidence, and evidence from state collation agents, the tribunal should have concluded that there was no collation and that votes were merely allotted. “The question is, if there was no collation, can there be said to be an election,” the court asked. “Indeed whe
